A grand Antique late-Victorian Albert chain made Circa 1900. The piece is made up of solid Sterling Silver links, a T-bar and large spring ring clasp which have all been gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold.

Albert chains were used in the Victorian era to secure a pocket watch by attaching it via the T-bar to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. They were named after Prince Albert, who was Queen Victoria’s consort until his death in 1861.

Each link is solid, and some contain their original Sterling Silver lion hallmarks. It has a good heavy weight to it and is in Excellent condition.
